Pre staging replication

Post by icebun »

This is a daft question but I have to got to ask it.

When prestaging a replication job, I have set it to point to a NAS share.

Presumably, once the initial replication has been completed, NAS device shipped over to the DR site and data copied onto DR SAN do I:-

- Modify the properties of the orginal job to remove the entry for the orginal replication pre stage path

- Then run the job again to sync any subsequent changes

Thanks.

Hello, no you do not need to do that. The actual process is described on the page 55 of the User Guide. Basically the export will contain readme.txt file with instructions on where to put the files to, this is all what needs to be done. Thanks.

Hey Gostov,

I understand.

Can you confirm that once I have carried out the intial replication, that I do not need to clear the checkbox that reads "Perform inital replication over this removable storage."

So in other words, I should never need to modify the orginal job for any subsequent replication runs.
