Hi
In the daily backup we would like to exclude one of the data disks for a particular VM. OK it is easy via the exceptions tab
Now, on the weekly backup, we would like to add that particular data disk for that VM. Is it possible? Do we need also to include the system disk?
If we wish to restore at the file level, can we restore from the weekly job directly onto the VM
For full DR, can we easily recover that disk from the weekly job, once the VM has been restored from the daily job?
Thanks

Re: Disk Exceptions
Hello,
Yes, that's possible, you can create a separate job for that weekly VM backup, however I would not recommend doing separate virtual disk backups, as it will add extra steps during restore process of the entire VM.
Yes, you can recover that disk, but I'm not sure what application is installed in this VM and how will it treat this difference in backup times. Can you elaborate a bit more on your scenario and the VM you want to use this backup strategy for?
Thank you!

Re: Disk Exceptions
Moreover, we have a thread discussing similar scenario; might be worth taking a look.
