Time required for a SQL Instance Restore
Hello,
we have VEEAM B&R 8.0 Version 8.0.0.917 in use. The VEEAM Console is installed on a virtual server (VMWare vSphere 5).
Now i make a restore from a SQL DB which has a size from 23.2 GB. The Backupfile is stored on a fast HP EVA storage.
The time i need for the restore is 23 minutes.
Is this time normal or is it to long?
The DB Adminstrator says its to long for him, when he make a restore from a share, on which he has the backup of MS SQL directly written it needs only 6 minutes.
At this time I opened not support case.
Thank you for answers

Re: Time required for a SQL Instance Restore
Hi Matthias,
Are you doing FLR restore of the db file? What is the performance rate if you try to upload any file (25 GB) to the datastore hosting your SQL Server VM from your backup repository?
Thanks!
