Query with sending emails to exchange 2007

Post by b.hailes »

Hi, we are evaluating the latest version of the software and we have run abit of a stumberling point

We have set the email to point to our Edge Transport server and while it can connect and talk to the server, it fails to send an email, it comes back with a selection of error messages, the common ones being

Failed to send test email message
Error description: Error in message body

Failed to send test email message
Error description: Server returned error after sending RCPT TO

We have tested and are able to send messages via telnet, so its not a problem with the exchange server, it just seems to a problem with the way the mail is setup on this version

We know the service does work as when we point it at our old Exchange 2003 server, it process the email fine,

Is the server unable to send emails via exchange 2007?

Hello,

I cannot recall seeing this kind of error during our internal testing of Monitor application. However, I've already submitted the request to our QA team and will keep you posted as soon as I get any information related to your issue.

Thank you!

Hello,

Our testing team were unable to reproduce this issue, as well as I've searched through support cases we have, nothing mentioning such an issue with Exchange 2007. By the way do use authentication opiton for sending emails? As far as i know anonymous access was slightly changed in Exchange 2003 and 2007, so it could be the problem.

Thank you!

Hi, thank you for your reply,

I will continue to look into why our exchange servers are being annoying, just out of curiosity, which server are you sending the emails to, Edge or Hub or something else

Also, is there any way to adjust the software to not use ehlo, if that could be fixed we could point it at our existing smtp relay servers which is more ideal for us.

Cheers in advance

Hello, our software sends emails to the SMTP server you specify in the email notification settings.

Hi,

I also faced the same issue on sending of a test email from Client options dialog.

"Failed to send test email message
Error description: Error in message body"

The issue disappeard as soon as I unticked the "Use authentication" option.

I'm using the Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit and Exchange 2007.
