Availability Suite 8 - Job Deletion Report

Post by flempitsky »

I have a customer and one of their Requirements is a report for their internal customers when a job is deleted. If an internal customer being backed up wants a job deleted they want to give them a printed document saying it was deleted. Not actual destruction just confirmation it was deleted. Is there anyway of doing this? could a report be added? This is a huge opportunity 86 Sockets worth. If we can not do this it may be dead.

There is no predefined report for that, however, you can create it yourself pretty easily:

1. When any job is deleted, Veeam backup server generates an event ID 23090 (stating the time and the name of the job that has been deleted). Check out Windows Event Log -> Applications -> Veeam backup. You can export and then print out this event.
2. Alternatively, we have a predefined Job Change Tracking report, which should also state that a backup job has been deleted on the server. This report also provides details on all other changes made to the jobs, not sure it is relevant in your case or not.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reponse. This is important to this deal because the customer is saying it is a requirement and they are looking at 96 Sockets of Veeam Availability Suite enterprise Plus 8 or Veeam B&R Enterprise Plus 8

They'd better looking at Veeam Availability Suite for sure since it does provide complete visibility into their backup infrastructure :)
