Backup Enterprise Manager Notifications

Post by rlilic »

I configured notifications on BEM and when I click Test I receive email. When I run a job I do not receive an email saying that the job was finished with Error, Warning, or Successful? Any idea?

If you want to receive email notifications for the backup jobs in real-time, then you need to configure these settings in the backup console. Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager only sends summary email notification on the jobs states once a day.

I run test job Today around 11 AM and set notifications to be send at 12:15 PM also Today, but I never received that notification. Perhaps I will set it for 7:30 AM and wait until tomorrow morning and see if I receive them.

Our technical team should supply you with the instructions. Check out the About tab, there should be some details available (as far as I remember).

it looks like this has something to do with Subject line in notification. When I change parameters [1% Failed, 2% Warning, 3% Successes] from Subject line, and put something else in Subject line I receive notification but email is empty. So, obviously parameters must be changed! Anyone?

What's your case ID, so that I could review your debug log files? BTW, do notifications work in the Veeam B&R server?

Thanks for the case ID. I see that our engineer has asked to provide the full logs package, can you please do that?

Hi Vitaly,

One thing. Please find out what, when notification is sent, comes in the email, what information you find in the body of email?

In the subject you should have the line you define in the Enterpise Manager UI, as to the body of the email, then it should look like this.

As a further troubleshooting step, can you please tell me if you have any stats for the "Last 24 hours" section in the main dashboard?

It looks like that. Than the issue is resolved. I do not know why I do not receive email when I in Subject line have a default name [Last 24 Hours: 1% Failed, 2% Warning, 3% Successes].

In the Document Subject line says [Last 24 Hours: 1% Failed, 2% Warning, 3% Successes] should be changed to like <write your preference or whatever>

That's weird, cause my email was generated without changing any parameters. Glad that you finally have these notifications in your inbox.

Oh you have no issue with that Subject line. Than it is weird. I even put the parameters from my VB&R servers and I receive an email. Only default parameters are in question for which I do not care as long as email body message does not change! See below.

Summary of last sessions for all jobs:
6 Errors, 18 Warnings, 95 Successes

Yes, I believe you can change the words as you did, but passing these parameters 1%, 2%,3% is still essential.

No parameters in my subject line. My Subject line is: "Last 24 Hours Backups" and I received following info in the body of the email this morning:

Summary of last sessions for all jobs:
6 Errors, 18 Warnings, 95 Successes

Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager

Which is all it sends! Right?

Yes, that's the summary email. If you want to see a full-blown backup summary report, then Veeam ONE (part of Availability Suite) can come in handy in this case.

Is this part of BEM? Or this is Veeam One Reporter separate from BEM?

It's part of Availability Suite, not Backup Enterprise Manager. You can ask your sales rep about possible ways of upgrading your Veeam B&R installation to Availability Suite.
