Enable repository for configuration backup
Hello,
We've recently gone live with Veeam. It seems that when the environment was initially setup, during testing, a repository was chosen for the config backup but that repository has since been removed. I've not been able to find a way to add a new repository as the target for the config backup. I've gone through all of the settings for my existing repositories as well as creating a new one. All of the documentation I've looked at says that when a repository is created, it is supposed to give an option to set it as a config backup target. I'm not seeing this at all. All of the repos I'm creating are using Exagrid devices as the back end storage.
What am I missing?

Re: Enable repository for configuration backup
Hello Aaron,
You need to add a backup repository first, and then when choose the repository among existing while setting the configuration backup.
Do you have several backup repositories? Are they all in the drop-down list in the configuration backup?
Thanks.

Re: Enable repository for configuration backup
Hi Shestakov,
I have 15 backup repositories that I have created. None of them are showing up in the drop-down list for the configuration backup. All of these repositories are on Exagrid storage devices. Are there any specific requirements around the type of storage that can be used for a configuration backup? I haven't seen anything saying so but I'm not sure why none of them are showing up as options.
Thanks,
Aaron

Re: Enable repository for configuration backup
Hi again Aaron, and thanks for the clarification.
You are correct, there are 2 types of repositories that are not supported by configuration backup: Cloud repositories and Dedup repositories(Exagrid, StoreOnce etc.).
You can create a folder on a VM and use it as the destination for the configuration backup.
Or you can create a share on a windows-based machine and use it for conf. backups.
Thanks.

[MERGED] Changing Configuration Backup Repository
Hi,
I have added a HP StoreOnce repository to my Veeam B&R infrastructure as a second repository.
I want to change my configuration backup destination to the new repository, but the backup configuration dialog only has the local repository available on the drop-down.
Why does my StoreOnce repository not appear here as an option?
Thanks
Richard Dormer

Hi Richard,
Cloud repositories and Dedup repositories, including StoreOnce are not supported by configuration backup.
Thanks!

Re: Enable repository for configuration backup
Also please note that Scale Out Backup Repository cannot be used for configuration backups as well.
