How to remove NAS from "Host disk read/write latency" alarm?

Post by hyvokar »

Hi!

How can I remove the alarms coming from NAS (which easily exceed 100ms treshold) from "Host disk read(or write) latency" alarm?

When I'm in infrasctructure view -> virtual infra -> host -> datastores -> my_nas and view from alarm's actions "edit exclusions" it shows that both of my NASs are excluded. However, when I go to alarm management and check the rules for those alarms, it says that only "veeambackup*" is excluded. So that will match only one of my NAS. How to exclude the other? (and is this correct behavior?)

Couldnt figure out how to exclude those datastores, so I disabled the host disk read/write latency alarms and made couple of new alarms for datastores.

Did you try to specify datastore name in the alarm configuration, next to Veeambackup datastore name?

Hi!

Yes I did, if you mean the field "Excluded datastores". It seems that the field is prepopulated with string "Veeambackup*" (I first thought it came from the name of my second NAS). However, I'm not sure, how multiple values should be separated (comma, semicolon, space, quotes+comma etc).

Also, while I'm hanging on this Alarm Settings screen, could it be resizable ? :-)

It should be a semicolon ";"

No, it cannot be, but we are redesigning it right now, so every setting will fit into the screen.
