Hyper-V with LTO-4
Hi ...
is it possible to run a backup to a LTO drive direct in the Hyper-V Host (connected to an local controller) ? How to install such a Backup method ? B&R installed on Hyper-V (Core) isn't possible right ?
So how to access the LTO-Drive ?
Best regards,
michael

Re: Hyper-V with LTO-4
You mean to backup VMs directly to tapes, bypassing backup repository?

Correct.I don't think DtoT is possible ? am I right ?
Connect the device to the said host, install proper drivers (OEM ones from device manufacturer), make sure it's correctly reflected in Windows Device Manager and install tape server role on that host. After that, you will be able to utilize VB&R tape functionality. But how to access the Tape drive (what kind of software have i to install on the hyper-v host where the tape drive is connected to ?)
Thanks.

Speaking about Veeam part of story, you should assign tape server role on the given server and create corresponding jobs afterwards. That's all.
