Move tape out of retired

Post by Steve_za »

I have a tape with the same name as another tape that was retired automatically by Veeam as it said it contains errors, but the new tape with the same name was added to the retired pool immediately, I assume because it has the same name. How can I move the tape into the free pool (greyed out currently)
I've tried erasing, but it didn't help.

Thanks

Steve, actually Veeam B&R does not rely on the tape name, but rather its header. Is the second tape a brand new one?

You can try to unload the tape from the library, delete it from Offline pool, and then insert again. If it is still not detected as new and gets to Retired, please continue working with support team on this.
