insufficient Repositori Space
Hi veeam community!
I have an external hard drive of 3.5 Tb 's external repository as configured for the VM Backup staying there.
It 's time and I have no space available , some 14 Gb 's and why tasks are not performed due to lack of space.
I configurate backup jobs to have only 2 and 3 restore points.
In the repository folder within each VM are the .vbm and .vbk each day of the scheduled backup (example 5-04/12-04/19-04/26-04/03-05/10-05) .
By default, they are configured in the Advanced Settings option RETENTION VM is every 20 days .
What should be changed to make room again on that drive?
Veeam to remove old copies is responsible ?
Thanks!!

What backup mode do you use (forward/reverse incremental), please tell us once again current retention settings for the job, and what files do you currently have on disk?

I put a picture and an activate complete/ incremental
The biggest drawback I see in space is that complete copies are already taking up too much space.
COMPLETE FULL
Incremental
Thanks!

Looks like you have more restore points that you`ve scheduled.
By the way, is it required by your management to use only Full backups for the 1st job? You can save a lot of space using forever forward incremental method.
The option of deleting backups older than X days works only for the deleted jobs. Otherwise, the backups will be deleted by restore points number retention.
Thanks.

Re: insufficient Repositori Space
If I'm getting right, changed retention cannot apply for the first job, since the job cannot be successfully completed (due to lack of space) - judging by size, the latest full is incomplete. You have to remove older files manually.

Re: insufficient Repositori Space
Yes Shestakov , no more restore points that programmatically because I found the task so I have modified to have fewer points of restoration. On my machine I have the configured as you indicate and have no problem , but in this section was well set up and we have found the lack of space
Foggy , in capture screen:
is that the latter is not done correctly for the size it is .
It would be advisable to manually remove the three oldest copies not ?
Thank you both for your help.

Yes, you can remove some of the older files to free up the space.

Re: insufficient Repositori Space
Veeam B&R automatically maintains the specified number of restore points, however retention applies at the end of successful job run. Since in your case the job fails due to lack of free space, retention cannot be applied.

I don`t think it eliminates anything. Could you clarify?adrianIDC wrote:That eliminates the copies with X days ..
I would suggest to set notifications to be informed about jobs` warnings/errors. Thanks.

It's all ok. I'll configure restore point so well as the amount of work completed machines.
