Enterprise manager cannot see ESXi host

Post by vicious »

Hello,

I'm trying to add a role in Enterprise Manager with restrictions by ESXi host. For some reason, when i choose "Selected virtual machines only" in role creation and press the "Choose" button - I cant see my ESXi host in selections .... I see my two VCenter hosts, but no ESXi ... I believe that there is some cache with these hosts ... maybe I should clear it ... but how?

Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, you click the Add Objects button and do not see hosts when expanding vCenter server node under Hosts and Clusters?

Nope.
When expanding vCenter nodes - I see hosts that controlled by vCenter. Thats working fine.

But also in Veeam B&R I have two standalone ESXi hosts. One of them I can see among vCenter objects, but second - is missing.

Got it. Could you please check whether reverse DNS lookup works for this host on Enterprise Manager server?

Yep.

I tried adding it as FQDN or IP - same result.

So did you check whether host name is returned by requesting its IP address?

Sorry, didnt mention you was talking about PTR-record. You're right. After adding it, everything work fine.

Thanks a lot!
