Non-HTTP traffic to reach the outside world from the vLab ?

Post by massimiliano.rizzi »

Hello guys,

this is more a curiosity question than a real issue or real need.

Should the need arise, would it be possible for non-HTTP traffic to reach the outside world from the isolated Virtual Lab ?

Thanks and Regards,

Massimiliano

Massimiliano, this is not possible without manually changing appliance network settings.

Manually add a vnic to a host and route thought it. We hook up a real switch , work stations, printers and routers to do DR testing to our vLab every year. The rest of the year it is the training lab.

Hello,

thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.

I have just realized I've missed KB 1447 with information on how to connect to the Linux proxy appliance.

Based on my understanding, once you manually add a vNIC to the Linux proxy appliance it should only be a matter of manually changing its routing tables accordingly.

Thanks,

Massimiliano
