Veeam Cloud Connect question

Post by lehbot »

Hello,

is it possible to prestage data into the DC of a Service Provider by importing the backup files to the Quota of the cloud connect user ?
For example we want to backup 5 TB, the customer delivers the .vbk and some vib files by disk. We copy them into the folder of the user and import them into B&R.
Will the backup job, or the B&R server on the SP side, recognize the prestaged data and only copy changed data?

Sorry, but my account is not added to the partner forum.

You can seed a backup copy job, take a look at http://www.veeam.com/kb1856 & http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/v ... liary.html for some more information.

Do you mean the ability to seed the job created on one Veeam B&R instance using backup files created using another Veeam B&R instance? Then the answer is yes.

Yes, i mean, if a customer wants to backup into our cloud connect, is it possible to prestage that data. That requires two B&R Servers, which are completely independant.
If it will work by seeding the backup files it is a great function.

Haven't you applied to the corresponding user group? I'm wondering because your organization seems to be a member of our VCP program, and that's the main requirement for your forum account to be verified to the said subfroum.

Thanks.
