I noticed in the release notes for Update 2 that there is now a silient install option?
Silent install. Starting with Update 2, updates will fully support automated silent install, including triggering update of remote backup infrastructure components. This should significantly reduce the time required to update Veeam deployments with a large number of backup servers.
When I run the .exe with the /Q command I still get prompts to click 'Next' etc...
Is there any more command line switches to supress these and install silently - or am I reading this wrong? Does this mean from here on after there will be silent installs (not including update 2?)
This functionality works starting from, and including Update 2.
Specification was "being prepared" last week, I have asked to update me on the status.
The plan was to create a support KB article with all parameter documented, when that is ready.
But to get you going, I stole this script from our auto-testing lab.
The KB article regarding silent install is being written at the moment.
Speaking about upgrading servers that have backup copy jobs running, silent install is no different from full install. It will stop and won't proceed, until running jobs are stopped.
In order to avoid that you can write simple script checking whether there are jobs running, and disabling them as needed.
how is that KB article going?
I was able to write Kaseya script, it installs update 2a but running jobs interfere. If I only knew the way to stop all running jobs before executing update script...
