Monitoring Logfiles

Post by dbruns »

Hello

has anyone an idea how to monitor a logfile with veeamone?
I want to get alarms if the message "hot add disk is not supported" in veeam logfiles,
e. g. logfile "Agent.*.vmdk.log" or "Task.*.log.
This logfiles are on the veeam backup server in path c:\programm data\veeam\backup\<Job>

Thanks in advance

Hello Dietmar and welcome to the forums.
You can create an event-based alarm to be aware of it. Does it work for you?
Thanks!

If you want to receive these type of warnings from the backup server, then you can use VM configuration assessment report as well backup infrastructure assessment report that do highlight these potential issues in the report format. Thanks!

thanks for your answers.
The problem is, that the message "hot add is not supported for source disk" seems to be an info, not a warning.
So it's is difficult to find the right event to build an event based alarm
either to find that in a report.
Until now i don't find the right event ....,
perhaps you can help?

All unsupported disks are listed in VM configuration assessment which was specifically built to detect these issues. Did you have a chance to run the report and check the results?
