Create new recovery disk

Post by mbreitba »

So I doing system cleanup, and I tossed the recovery ISO since I wasn't actively testing recovery at this point of the testing process. Now I need to go and test recovery, and I can't find a way to generate a new recovery ISO. Is there anywhere that I can do that, or do I have to remove/reinstall the software?

Hello,
You can re-create the recovery media anytime you need from:

- C:\Program Files\Veeam\EndPoint Backup\Veeam.Endpoint.RecoveryMedia.exe
- Start > All Programs > Veeam > Tools > Create Recovery Media

Aha! I was looking all over the UI. Didn't think to check the start menu locations.

I also spent a lot of time looking in the UI. And I did check in the Start menu by searching for "Veeam" which, of course, did not locate "Create Recovery Media". I'm glad I found this forum post. :)

Hopefully it’s going to be changed in the new Windows 10. MS kept the start menu idea close to the windows 7 – so all the Veeam Endpoint Backup tools can be found in the corresponding subfolder.
