Question for Guru: Does VEB backup NTFS ADS?

Hello,

i have search everywhere but cannot find any notes on that:

Does Veeam Endpoint Backup backup NTFS Alternate Data Stream? (ADS)

We use software that use ADS and need to be sure that these information are really backing up

Hi,

As NTFS.COM states:

A library of files might exist where the files are defined as alternate streams

Which means that it takes hdd space to keep alternative data stream, therefore alternative stream will be backed up by Endpoint, as well as anything what is stored on the hdd. So, the answer is "Yes, ADS will be backed up"

Do you take full image backup in order to backup NTFS ADS?

I suppose it work on "volume mode" backup, not on file level?
