Error Linux Guest-File-Indexing

Hello,

i have a very small Kubuntu 14.04 VM on Server 2012 R2 in Hyper-V.

When I test the credentials for Guest-File-Indexing I receive the error "Failed to get VM's IP addresses.".

The VM ist not added to ads.

What is my flaw?

Do you have such utilities as mlocate, gzip and tar installed on the Linux VM?

yes, all of them are installed.

I actually suspect VMware Tools issue, since this is where IP address gets obtained from.
Please include the support case ID for this issue, so we can track the resolution. Thanks!

Ehm, he said Hyper-V, so for sure VMware tools are missing

Then, whatever alternative is there on Microsoft side, I believe it is called Hyper-V Integration Components (for Windows guests) and Linux Integration Services Version 4.0 for Hyper-V (for Linux guests).
