Feature Request - rsync required in FLR linux vm

Post by nick.hunter »

AT B&R V7 rsync was part of the FLR linux helper vm.
This enabled only the changes in files to be copied to a non vmware server.

At V8 this is no longer available.

Can it be reinstated.

Can you elaborate on your question a bit, you mean Linux FLR VM v7 had rsync installed and that's not the case with v8?

Right, most likely it was intentionally removed to make appliance size smaller. Anyway, thanks for your feedback.

Yes, according to this post by Veeam employee Tom Sightler, rsync was included in v7. He points out that it is a very useful feature:

The size of the statically linked rsync binary on my Android is 793 KB. If this was compiled into Busybox, it would be smaller than that. The size of the of the FLR appliance in v8 is ~100MB. Is less than a megabyte of space worth removing an extremely valuable feature?

Please bring rsync back to the FLR appliance in v8!!
