Tape Server connection state

Post by futureweb »

Hi,

we have a lot of errors that say, the tape server is disconnected/Inaccassble.
As at the same time we are doing successfully tape backups with max possible speed, the error can't really be true.

Is there any timeout that could be adjusted like when doing event collection (we already changed that according to KB),
or what else could it be. the connection comes back/goes away, but the backup job on B&R runs fine without interruption or error.

What I noted is, that the error startet to happen right when the tape job started to run, as this is a big job for about 17 hours, it was happening all day long.
If I check the transfer, it just dropped when the tape was unloaded and new was loaded.

A 2nd guess is, it happened to the host, where we have the server connected twice, once as "HyperV", once as "Windows Server".
Is this something you must not do? We do a file to tape job, where it needed "Windows Server", otherwise it wasn't able to find files on the backup and always cancelled the job with no new files.

Thanks
Patrick
