Simple Linux appliance?

Has anyone at Veeam ever considered creating a small, simple Linux repository appliance...something that could be installed on bare-metal or deployed as a virtual appliance?

It'd be sweet if it could act as both a backup repository server AND an NFS server and be easy to add/attach new disks/storage to. (Having it function as both a backup repository server and an NFS server means a person could not only restore VMs on it, but present it at the same time to a VMware host/cluster as an NFS datastore. It'd be easy at that point to restore a VM from backup to the NFS shared location on the appliance, register it to VMware and then vMotion it back to your production storage at your leisure.

I think a lot of people would love the simplicity of such an offering if it were available!

Hi Greg,

There were no thoughts on this as far as I know, but you can deploy any Linux distro (which you like) that meets these requirementss and then use it as a target for your jobs.

Any Ubuntu, CentOs, RHEL should work, you don't need to be an expert in Linux, but thanks for the feedback!
