Reducing the size of backups

Post by fconil »

We want to set up a DR scenario over WAN (for obvious reasons)

Local network replication is fine, but there's still an odd 20G being "replicated" overnight for 3 VMs.

I'm already using max compression and I was wondering how I could lower the total size of my replication job for ease of transfer over the WAN link.

Also, v5 will have an option to optimize our processing engine for WAN network speed bound remote backup and replication jobs. With this option in place, we are seeing over 2x reduction of incremental data in real-world customer environments comparing to the current code.
