Hi,
We have a physical Veeam server with the following spec:
2 CPU's with 16 cores per CPU
192GB of RAM
Running Veeam 7.0.0.871, Enterprise Plus Licence
Max concurrent jobs on the proxy is set to 16, when I try and go higher it gives a warning that "The server has insufficient CPU resources (16 cores detected)", I thought that it would detect 32 cores, so I should be able to run 32 jobs concurrently? Or could I actually go higher?
Many Thanks,

What's the processor model? Are you sure it's not 8 core + hyperthreading instead of actual 16 cores?

Re: The server has insufficient CPU Resources
My mistake -you are right - its an Intel E5-2640 v2 with 8 cores. So I take it Veeam will not account for hyperthreading?

Re: The server has insufficient CPU Resources
Yep, only real cores because a hyperthread path does not double the CPU capacity it simply shares a core. You may be able to exceed the default 1 task per core recommendation, but be prepared to crank the tasks back down if you have any problems like random job failures as that will be the first thing support will tell you to do. Also if you don't have enough actual CPU, each individual task will just run slower. That being said, I know a lot of customers that run more than the one task-per core with success even if it is not really "best practice", and thus why we provide a warning.
