I am not sure if this is expected behavior, but last night I setup my tape infrastructure and set encryption on the backups. Up to this point there was no encryption setup anywhere. Now this morning when my backup configuration job runs it fails and says it cannot complete because encryption is required. Once I set the encryption password for the configuration backup and ran it again, it worked without issue. Is this expected?
Cheers!

Re: Tape Encryption Now Requires Config Encryption
Ryan,
Do you know that it was first posted to the Endpoint’s subforums, got tape in the subject and refers the configuration backup encryption issue ( I’ve moved this thread to general VBR subforums )
Now to the topic – there is a known limitation for configuration backup:

Now to the topic – there is a known limitation for configuration backup:
Veeam Backup & Replication requires that you encrypt a configuration backup if you have created at least one password in the Password Manager on the backup server.
