Veeam 7 - Handling quiesce failures
We have Veeam 7 installed and most backups work successfully day to day.
We do get issues where a quiesce fails and subsequently the given VM does not get backed up.
Even though our backup jobs have quiesce enabled is it possible to alter some sort of setting in Veeam to say....if quiesce fails (VSS), continue backup of VM with no quiesce?
This would be very useful as some VMs do it from time to time....and we dont want to setup extra jobs just with no quiesce set!
thanks

Sure, just select "Try application processing, but ignore failures". Thanks.

Re: Veeam 7 - Handling quiesce failures
yes I have seen this however we want to apply quiesce to all VMs whether they are application aware hosts or just normal filesystem.
I do believe Veeam should be more intelligent here. If the VSS is not possible, carry on and do a normal snapshot.
If application processing achieves what we need for both SQL and normal filesystem VMs then we could consider this...
thanks

These settings apply to all VMs in the job.

Re: Veeam 7 - Handling quiesce failures
thanks. So if VSS errors for some reason will Veeam just do a normal snapshot backup?

Yes, crash-consistent backup will be created.
