Backup copy job start times

Post by btmaus »

I am using Forever Forward Incremental to perform my VM backups, they start at 7pm and are usually completed around 8.30pm.

I have configured backup copy jobs that are configured to copy every day, start at 11pm.

However, what I have noticed is that the backup copy jobs usually kick off in the middle of the backups, and are causing contention for resources. Why are they not starting at 11pm?

Support case #01082695.

Backup copy jobs don't really have a start time, so much as a forced-restart time.

So they will just continuously run and copy data as they detect it? Is that correct?

What is the purpose of setting the time on the first page of the backup copy job, where you set it to copy 1 per day for example, and it asks for a time, whats is that for then?

You're defining the interval to search available restore point within. If you want to limit the backup copy execution time, please define the corresponding backup window for it.
