Dynamic VM exception

Post by cividan »

Hi, I'm new to veeam and in our old backup solution we were able to exclude vm dynamically using a pattern in the beggining of their name but I did not find a way to achieve this into veeam. I created a backup job to for our vmware cluster but when I go into the exception I can manually select which vm to include but we use test vm often and we don't want these to be backed up. Is this possible to achieve?

No such pattern-based exception, but you could use a container, such as a folder or resource pool (either for exclusions, or just put everything you want to back up in the folders and exclude nothing), and you can also include/exclude by tags.
