We've been backing up Exchange 2010 for quite some time and now we have requirement to rename the production Exchange database name to something else.
Would this rename process affect the item level restoration from Exchange explorer? because previous vibs or vbks of the exchange 2010 VM are from the original name of the database.
Thanks

Re: Exchange Explorer
Frankie, changing the database name should not affect restores via Veeam Explorer for Exchange, since it does not rely on the database name in its operation.

Re: Exchange Explorer
veeam is going to backup the VM, doesn't matter what name is the database.
we had database on C, lately moved to D and called something else ,
at night the backup works fine and sure backup too.

Re: Exchange Explorer
Thanks for chiming in, Julien. The original question, however, regards to items restore to the renamed DB via Veeam Explorer for Exchange, so if you could confirm you had no issues with that either, it would be much appreciated.
