Adjusting Backup Target Space Alert

Post by B.F. »

Is there any way to adjust what VEB considers low disk space before sending out e-mail alerts?

Thanks

What is the destination, is it a VBR repository or local storage?

I have not tested this, but have you tried changing the notification setting in VBR for the low disk? Under Options you can specify when it alerts.

Just unchecked "Warn me when free disk space is below x percent" under Backup storage for this test. Let see what happens tonight. :)

Thanks

Nope, still get the alerts. Would be nice to be able to adjust how low disk space gets before alerts go out.

Thanks

Hi folks,

Need to clarify are we talking about the disk space warning inside the email notification or disk space warning inside the endpoint’s control panel? Thanks.

Yes. :)

Both are alerting me. Mostly getting tired of getting e-mail alerts every single morning. The destination for the backups, I'm well aware of the limited space and the size of the endpoints barely change at all. Kind of surprised that there is no way to adjust the threshold when the alerts are sent.

Thanks

Here you go. Adjust backup repository free space threshold to the value you need

Interesting! I set one of them to 1%. Now we wait until tomorrow morning to see if my e-mail alerts drop from 3 to 2.

Any reboots required?

Thanks!

I'd advise to reboot any time you feel it’s a necessity, just in case

Did not help. Solved the e-mail nags by finally adding some more space.
