Best SAN Recommendation
We have been using Dell Equallogic SANs for many years starting with the PS6100. Looking to purchase a new one. Vendors always say theirs is best. Can anyone recommend best performing SAN for the money? Need around 40TB.

Needs? Best performing SAN for the money. I know there are lots of options, including tiered storage. Currently using 1gig connectivity with iSCSI. Don't think it is worth upgrading our VMWare infrastructure to support 10gb.

Three hosts, about 35 VM's. Four VM's are SQL servers and one Exchange server. Right now, using one SAN with all NL-SAS drives & 1 GB connectivity.

Re: Best SAN Recommendation
There are a lot of good vendors out there. Of course its always a budget question. SDS (DataCore / Starwind etc.) are also good options if there is some in house competence. Some of the newer "Start-Ups" are of course also worth looking at, be sure to check if they have their support in order...
If dealing with a new vendor be sure to do a decent POC and dont trust their marketing without actually testing.
