Veeam Explorer for MS SQL

Post by Jack1874 »

Guys, I'm running through some tests using Veeam Explorer for MS SQL. Could someone help explain what value I should be adding here ...

Is this the staging sever as described in this article. Its talks mainly about the SharePoint Explorer .. but it is the same value staging serer that would\could be used.

http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/e ... mreqs.html

Our database is hosted on a remote so we don't have a local copy of SQL. Can I point it at a remote SQL server ??

If you're asking about staging server fro Veeam Explorer for SQL, then, it should be local instance. Thanks.

Yes, even SQL Server Express installed by default as part of Veeam B&R can be used as staging system.

Except that SQL Express will not be able to mount most of your databases :) at least those larger than 10GB, or using features only available in advanced SQL editions. I think it's quite important to note!
