Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade
Gday people, we are going to do an Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade this weekend (Currently SP1).
What i need to know is it safe to roll back if anything goes wrong? I am seeing people say that i will have issues as it does a Schema update as well.
I will be backing up with BackupEXEC 2010 of all databases and also System state of both mail and Schema master.
Is there anything i need to look out for?

Prior to upgrade initiate a backup cycle. If anything goes wrong, leverage quick rollback functionality. Thanks.

Re: Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade
So when you say backup do you mean replication because im replicating each server every night.
Also what about schema in active directory?
EDIT:Also i cannot find anything about restoring emails, databases using Replica's its always taking about backups of which we do not perform we only do replications.
Is this the same method? I just dont want to ruin 1 terabyte of emails and have a 100 users come monday screaming at me thats all.
Also im using Veeam version 7

Re: Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade
Well everything looked like it was working backing up to disk but it says its transfered 16 gig but the file size is only 16 meg.
Could it be the formated size of the disk? Im running out of time to get responses for this issue (16 hours before i do SP3 update)
God dam now it isn't stopping this backup job after 30 minutes waiting!

Re: Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade
Well i rebooted server, formatted USB drive, created all new backups and a new repository pointing to USB drive and now it just sits there after 40 minutes at "Change Block Tracking enabled".
What the hell am i doing wrong? it worked fine testing it on a network share on my own PC.
Bytes Per Sector : 512
Bytes Per Cluster : 4096
Bytes Per FileRecord Segment : 1024
From logs
Checking whether storage to prepare is closed.

Yes, you can use Veeam Explorer for Exchange to restore Exchange items after manually restoring database file from replica.JohnGG wrote:EDIT:Also i cannot find anything about restoring emails, databases using Replica's its always taking about backups of which we do not perform we only do replications.
Is this the same method?
