Hello,
I am running the latest version of Veeam 8 U3 and I am having a lot of problem with the backup jobs when the retention period is hit. The Actual Merge process takes several hours some times I lose a whole day a backups because the merge process. I have all my REPOs attached using CIFS from a NetApp DS2240 (2-node cluster) with 1xDS4240 shelf with 24 SATA disks. Is anyone here experiencing very slow merges?
I need some help.
Thanks.

Just wondering PTide how you fixed this. I have a support ticket in now for the same problem you described.

Re: Merge process takes too long on Incrementals
It turns out after a year of perfectly fine backups my upgrade to 8.0 update 3 decided to choose a proxy server across the WAN to process all my local VMs. This was my fault because I hadn't picked a Gateway Server for my CIFS shares. http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/v ... erver.html
After stopping all the Merges with a reboot I assigned Gateway servers and the merges happened in a heart beat.
