B&R 8 unable to use StoreOnce VTL robotics

Post by davide.depaoli »

Hi,
I've setup a test/demo environment on my lab as follow:
Veeam B&R 8 Update3 on virtual machine. The server acts also as proxy and tape server.
HP StoreOnce VSA free updated to 3.13.1 firmware. On vsa I've configured an iscsi vtl emulating LTO6 MSL G3 tape library (2 drives/8 slot).

Veeam discover and configure this library, but is unable to use the robotic. It is seen as StandaloneDrive and not as Automated.
When a tape job run, it starts tape library discovery process that stays always at 0%, and the job ask me to mount a tape in the drive (waiting for tape).
If I, from vtl mgmt interface, manually mount a tape the job starts.

Is there anything I've forgot to do during tape setup ?
thanks in advance
Best regards,
Davide

Hi,

First, please check your "Device Manager" for "Unknown Media changer". If any found please install MSL drivers.

Thank you.

Hi PTide,
On device manager there is Unknown Media Changer and under Tape Drives: Hewlett-Packard LTO Ultrium6 drive.
I have already installed HP drivers for tape libraries, but to be sure, I have just reinstalled these drivers and now it seems to work as expected.
thank you
