Question on "\\?\Volume"

Post by WilliamSENEZ »

Hi, :)

I use this version of Veeam Endpoint Backup : 1.1.2.119
I use Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bits with French language
Before the upgrade of Veeam Endpoint Backup I have a message like this in the log task : "28/12/2015 23:00:00 :: C:\Windows 10 Enterprise (disk 0) (509,0 MB) 207,0 MB read at 207 MB/s [CBT]"
After this upgrade I have this message : "28/12/2015 23:59:16 :: \\?\Volume{75916fa3-0000-0000-0000-c057ee000000} (disk 0) (509,0 MB) 207,0 MB read at 207 MB/s [CBT]"
Is not very important but I want understand. Why I have this message ? :wink:
Can you explain this strange "\\?\Volume" :?:

Hello William,

Most probably its Windows 10 recovery partition. For instance, mine was created during OS upgrade. The path actually shows that there is no mount point but you can check this volume via disk manager.

Hi Dima P.,

You're right, that's it . I see the Windows 10 recovery partition in the disk manager.

Thank.
