Replica failover - The volume does not contain...

Post by Cragdoo »

I'm in the process of testing a replication job, of a Linux VM, but when I perform a failover test the job fails with
05/01/2016 14:32:25 Starting failover to restore point 03/01/2016 21:12:16. Original VM: testvm
05/01/2016 14:33:25 Applying re-IP rules
05/01/2016 14:33:22 Warning The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.
05/01/2016 14:33:22 Warning The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.
05/01/2016 14:33:28 Failover completed successfully

I can manually power up the VM, and the server boots successfully to the login prompt. The only info I can find about this error message is to do with FLR.

Can anyone offer any info?

Craig, does the failover actually fail? This is just a warning, as far as I can see, so the replica VM should be successfully started. Have you also tried with some other VM?

Just checked the console, and the VM does appear to have started. D'oh ..should have checked.

Am I right in assuming the warning is due to the fact the job is trying to re-ip a Lunix VM >?

Most likely it is. There're some workarounds, if you really need to do this.
