Backup failing on VM with RDM disks

Post by Hammy »

I am currently on a customer site trying to configure a number of VEEAM backup jobs. The only one giving me issue is the one where I have setup a cluster and therefore has 2 disks setup in RDM format.

I have gone into the exclusions tab then gone to VM Disks tab and chosen the selected disks option, selected are the 2 VMDK disks SCSI 0:0 and SCSI 0:1 the SCSI controller for these disks is set at None for the SCSI Bus Sharing.

However when I run the job it fails with the following error:

Virtual Machine is configured to use a device that prevents the snapshot operation: Device " is a SCSI controller engaged in bus-sharing. Device " is a SCSI controller engaged in bus-sharing.

The 2 RDM disks are connected to SCSI Controller 1 and this is set for Physical in the SCSI Bus Sharing to allow it work across hosts.

Am I missing a setting here or is this config not allowed within VEEAM.

Any help appreciated.

Regards
