BackupDisk Failed - Virtual Appliance

Post by TimFerguson »

A number of VM's are failing to be backed up using the Virtual Appliance method.

It happens across various volumes. I can't pin down anything that would be causing this. All VMFS volumes are available to all ESX hosts ( confirmed)

Thoughts?

Code: Select all

4 of 7 files processed

Total VM size: 20.01 GB
Processed size: 12.94 KB
Processing rate: 0 KB/s
Backup mode: HOTADD with changed block tracking
Start time: 7/17/2010 2:38:33 PM
End time: 7/17/2010 2:40:03 PM
Duration: 0:01:29

Backing up file "[VMFS-4] WINXP-3-DEMO-1/WINXP-3-DEMO-1-internal-flat.vmdk"
BackupDisk failed
Client error: The specified transports are not available. Available transports: [nbd]. Specified transports: [hotadd]. VMDK path: [[VMFS-4] WINXP-3-DEMO-1/WINXP-3-DEMO-1-internal.vmdk].

Server error: End of file

Hi Tim,

Could you tell us if you have IDE disks configured on that VMs? If this is not the case, please open a support ticket and provide us full log files to troubleshoot this. We do not provide support on technical issues via forum, as explained when you click New Topic.

Thanks!
