I've seen my repository space usage drop from 6TB for everything backed up, down to 3.36 TB after V9...
Does bitlooker also ignore free space on VMs? I do have a few servers that have literally a TB or more of free space. I'm just wondering how it all got down to this small. I love it though!

Yes, BitLooker allows to skip dirty data blocks that are marked as deleted on the VM guest OS.

So blocks that have never been used and are just free space, are considered "marked as deleted"?

Blocks that have never been used contain zeroes and were skipped by default even in previous Veeam B&R versions. Blocks that contain deleted data (while seen as free space from the guest OS) are skipped by BitLooker.
