Hi guys,
for one of our customer we are trying to implementate VEEAM V9.
they bought the license lately and we want to use synology rackstation rs815+ as external backup .
on the ESXI we have different storage for backup and want to use the synology rackstation rs815+ as extra external backup.
any suggestions how to map it on the veeam V9 ?
is it possible to map it using EMC VNX(E) ? or on a different way ?
thank you for your help

Re: Veeam V9 using Syology
Uhm , you have a bit of confusion...
VNX(e) is supported as a primary storage, the one mounted on vSphere where you run the different virtual machines.
For backup storage, Veeam supports windows and linux servers, SMB share and deduplication appliances. You can configure an SMB share on the Synology and send the Veeam backup to this share, without any need to mount it in the ESXi servers.

Re: Veeam V9 using Syology
you mean configure it as a Network Drive and map the backup configuration to it over the 1GB NIC ?

Re: Veeam V9 using Syology
When you create a new repository in Veeam, there is an option "shared folder", where you can then connect to the SMB/CIFS share created on the Synology.
