v9 Delete individual vbk from copy job

Post by gpomanti »

Is it possible to delete an individual vbk from a copy job? For example, we backup all of our VM's to a windows repository and the use Copy Jobs to archive the VM's to a Data Domain DD2500. After upgrading to v9, I notice that I can browse my Data Domain repository from the Files section in the Veeam console. I can go into a copy job and select restore points and there is an option to delete them. Is it safe to delete an individual monthly vbk? And now that per-vm backup chains are an option, can I delete an individual VM's full backup file? I would rather delete individual vbk's to clear up space then modify job retention policies.

Greg, are you talking about GFS monthly full? If yes, then you can remove it safely.

Thanks Foggy, that's great to know! And yes, I'm talking about the GFS monthly full. Just to be clear, I can do this for a per-vm vbk as well as a vbk for the entire job, correct?
