I think I've had a power surge and it took out my desktop, and my samsung ssd which contains all of my data.
I have an endpoint backup and I need to be able to restore the data.
Is it possible to mount the backup image so I can simply copy the files out of it?
I can't restore the computer as it appears to have suffered a hardware failure.
Any help would be appreciated, this is all of my kids pictures and videos.

Did you create bootable media when you installed endpoint?
Do you have another PC with endpoint installed on it that you could use to open the backups to restore files from?

I did create bootable media but my pc is dead.
I have a laptop with endpoint on it.
Do I just use the "file level restore" and point it to the desktop backup file?

Worked just fine thank you. I always forget there are more options in the endpoint client than what are shown in the taskbar application. They should just put the restore options in that part of the application. Thanks for your help.

I have trained myself to right click the tray icon which has more options than the standard interface. It keeps the control panel clean looking but just a different approach. For me, training to right click for a free backup product that integrates into VBR, Ill take it!

Thanks for the feedback and I am glad to hear Adam was able to restore the needed files. Indeed, you can start the recovery thru the tray icon. Additionality, you can find the recovery wizard in start menu under Veeam tools. Under Control Panel only last seven backup sessions of the current PC’s backup job are 'clickable' for recovery.
The last but not the list you can just double click the .vbk file to start the File Level Recovery
