Installation Issue
When trying to install Veeam Monitor I'm receiving the following error :
IDispatch error #3092 (Code: 0x80040E14, Source: Microsoft SQL Native Client, Description: 'Servername\Veeam Monitoring' is not a valid login or you do not have permission.)"
This is a virtual Windows 2003 member server. I’m attempting to use the same SQL Express 2005 instance as Veeam Backup (which is on the same server). However I get the same error when attempting to create a new separate SQL Express Instance too.
Monitor seemed to install previously on this server but started failing (due to logon permissions) when I joined the server to the domain. This is why I’ve uninstalled it and I’m now trying to complete a re-install.
Any help appreciated,
Mark.

Re: Installation Issue
Hi Mark,
Have you tried using local admin account to install Veeam Monitor? Could this issue be connected to a domain GPO applied to that server?
Thank you!

Re: Installation Issue
Vitaliy,
Unfortunately performing the installation as local admin didn't work. The OU where the server is located is not affected by a group policy.

Re: Installation Issue
Mark,
Could you tell me what version of Veeam Monitor are you trying to install by the way? I would recommend you to refer to our support team, as this issue might require webex session from our side to assist you with the installation.
Thanks!

Re: Installation Issue
Managed to get installation working by completing the following :
• Removing all Veeam Monitor database elements (database, users etc).
• Ran a registry cleaner (CCleaner).
• Ensured the user (used in the installation) had access and sufficient database roles on the existing SQLExpress server.
• Re-ran installation.

Mark, thank you for posting your troubleshooting steps. Great job! By the way have you had a chance to try Veeam Monitor 5.0 beta?

Re: Installation Issue
Vitaliy,
No yet, may take a look over the next few weeks (if I get chance!). I purchased the Veeam Essentials package before the June deadline to enable a free upgrade to SureBackup. Will an upgrade to Veeam Monitor 5.0 also be free as it’s included in the Veeam Essentials package?

Re: Installation Issue
Mark, yes, all upgrades are free of charge if you're on active maintenance plan.

Re: Installation Issue
Vitaliy,
We haven't got maintenance, we just purchased Veeam Essentianls (Veeam Monitor, Veeam Backup & Veeam Reporter) at the begining of June to take advantage of the free upgrade to Veeam Backup 5.0. Does that mean the upgrade to Monitor 5.0 will not be free?

All new license purchases include 1 year of maintenance free of charge, so you'll have a free upgrade to Veeam Monitor 5.0

Re: Installation Issue
You might try entering SERVERNAME,1433\INSTANCE
I noticed that Veeam Monitor tries to connect over UDP on 1434 by default, to which my SQL server didn't respond.
