New v9 Media set name variables
Hello,
want to use the new v9 Media set variables for sorting the used media list. New Definition is 'Wöchentlich %year%.%month%.%day% %time%'.
V9 named the set 'Wöchentlich 2016.Februar.13 23:59' - the month should be short '02' instead of Long 'Februar'. Any trick to do this?
Thank you,
Stefan

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Hi,
You might want to use %date% - that will give you date in "2/11/2016" format.
Thank you.

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Sorry, but not for localized german Installation. Even with regional Date Settings changed to YYYY/MM/DD. Hoped v9 variables can do this now.

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Could you please post some screenshots of your Regional Settings + media set variables settings so we could confirm the described behaviour? Also what's your OS version?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Regional Settings on german W2008R2 System Changed and Media Pool with Default Settings created. Date always formatted in Default german style, even with %date% variable:
The new media set variables are ok for our Needs, but the month is text instead of decimal!

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Our QA team has confirmed that the useage of %month% variable will always give you a full name of the month, no matter what Region and Speech you've specified in Windows options.
Could you please describe you goal in details, maybe I'll be able to provide you with some workaround?
Thank you.

Hi,
the Goal is to be able to sort the column 'media set' in each media pool by date in both directions (old>new or new>old).

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Hi StefanB,
Customize the media set name to something like %date% media set #%id% Then it should be sorted by date on the first place. Is you are looking for a better way to track the tape media usage Veeam One has several predefined reports that are worth testing
Update: Finally found the Help Center article Specify Media Set Options. You can create a custom name for your media set like %day% %month% %year% media set # %id% and it should be sorted properly.

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
we also need this feature and i think the default behaviour which does not allow sorting is not so nice (broken).StefanB wrote:Hi,

we will use
Code: Select all
%id% - %year%-%month%-%day% - %time%

Re: New v9 Media set name variables
Thanks, great to hear. full/long/short iso would also be very nice... Or perhaps the format strings from http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/manual ... -Time.html
