backup repository type and transport method when using VEB

Post by adhesionfear »

What type of share should I create on my exagrid to use with veb with vb&r, and what transport method should I use?

Veeam share or universal share? cifs or exagrid-veeam accelerated data mover?

You should be adding your Exagrid device as a backup repository and then point your Veeam Endpoint Backup jobs to this repository (select Veeam backup repository in the settings). As regards the transport mode, then I'm not sure I fully understand the question. Can you please clarify?

When you create a share you have to select a transport type.
I was wondering if there was any advantage of using the Exagrid-Veeam accelerated mover, instead of cifs.
One downfall I see is concurrent access on an exagrid-veeam accelerated mover is set to one.

Yes, if you have Exagrid, then selecting Exagrid-specific option is definitely recommended for having better job performance rates.
