Complete VEB uninstall (total cleanup)

Post by WingDog »

Hello.
After NAS FW upgrade I'm getting error

Code: Select all

"24.02.2016 10:51:19 :: Error: The user name or password is incorrect. Cannot create folder. Folder path: [\\nas\Backup]. --tr:FC: Failed to create directory. Directory path: [\\nas\Backup]. --tr:Failed to call DoRpc. CmdName: [FcCreateDir]. The user name or password is incorrect. Cannot create folder. Folder path: [\\nas\Backup]"
at all five PCs running VEB.
Share is accesible via Explorer with RW rights, so I can't find any other problems related with this CIFS share.

Tried to uninstall VEB, SQLLocalDB, cleanup SQLlocalDB folder and reinstall VEB, but all configs such as target, login/password and history are saved as well.

Can anyone provide information about total VEB cleanup?
thanks.

P.S. Case submitted, but no even CaseID so I can't provide it.
thank you.

Hi,

If you still want to erase the DB contents you can follow this approach. Since issue appeared after firmware update, can you check that behavior persists with newly created shared folder and permissions? Thanks

P.S. Case Id should be included in the follow-up up email.

Hello, Dima.
no luck - error "[HOSTNAME] Failed to get disk free space" during "populate" button.

This behavior persists with newly created shares and all other shares at those NAS.

Kirill,

What if you type in access credentials and click ‘Next’. Populate at rare occasions might fail to get the size estimate from the device.

Error: "The user name or password is incorrect. Failed to create or open file".
added NFS access for this share with all hosts RW rights - got the same errors.

Same with the full access? I do remember the same issue was resolved by synchronizing the local time on NAS and Endpoint machine (but that was a domain deployment).

yep, with the full access.

it's a workgroup (homegroup?) and time is synced.

Thanks. What NAS are you using?

P.S. Support team is asking for a valid email address since they can reach you with the given one. You can send it me via forum's PM.

I solved this problem by creating new user (not builtin admin or root) at NAS and reconfiguring VEB. Now it works perfect ;)
anyway thanks for help, whatever no support team feedback.

Hi Kirill,

Thanks for the update. Support team could not reach you thru the given email - they were getting the undeliverable reports with ‘(Undelivered): 554 5.4.7 [internal] exceeded max time without delivery’ error.
