Where I currently work uses Microsoft DPM as its backup solution and I wish to move everything to Veeam (we have a mixed Hyper-V / ESXi environment).
I'd like to start off with a proof of concept using Veeam B&R v9 free and go from there, however is there a direct upgrade / licensing path from free to Standard or above ?.
For example is the free edition absolutely identical to all other versions of Veeam B&R 9, the code / software, but feature limited by licensing ?. If I'm happy with my proof of concept using free can I then just apply a Standard or above license to unlock features ?.
Thanks.

Re: Veeam B&R 9, upgrade path from free to paid ?
Yes, this is the way it works. You just apply the paid license once you have it. You can also get the 30-days trial key for evaluation of the full product functionality.
