Synthetic Full Backups forever without active full

Post by myoth@m1.com.sg »

This may have discussed before but i could not find the right answer as i will ask again you guys :D

My setup is vmware and emc DD.
Policy is 7 restore points , incremental with synthetic full on Sat (as default).

Can i run forever with synthetic full? Do i still need Active full?
what will happen to synthetic full if one incremental backup chain between sun-fri has problem?

Thanks.

You can choose either forever forward incremental method or synthetic fulls.

It depends on Surebackup.

It may affect the full backup recoverability. Depends on the problem type.
Thanks!
