Post by EdgarPy »

Good afternoon everyone,

I am having a situation very particular, with a prospect client, the console was installed about 15 days ago. It was ok with all the implementation and post-installatation tasks.

Now that a i need to restore a virtual machine, i recieved the message "error failed to restore file: namemachine.vhdx Error: failed to decompress LZ24 block.."

The ticket number assigned is 01728861.

somebody has faced this scenario before?

Hi Edgar, this error is typically caused by storage-level data corruption. Basically, what we are reading from backup repository does not match the checksum we stored for the particular block back when we created the backup file. Perhaps the backup storage is malfunctioning? Thanks!

Hi Anton!

Thanks for the reply! So, there is nothing to do about to restore the backup file? I was able to access the backup file and make granular restoration of several required folders.

well, I will recommend making the change backup units currently used.

Full VM restore from this backup is most likely not possible. That's why it is recommended to always test backups using SureBackup to be aware of any issues and also have multiple backup copies available.
